Ladder and Mini ES Heatshields on installed on Shell Stones FPSO

Stones floating production, storage and offloading (FPSO) is an ultra deep-water oil and gas development in the Gulf of Mexico. It hosts the deepest production facility in the world, in some 2,900 metres (9,500 feet) of water.

As part of the Stones development, Locker Heatshielding provided both Ladder and Mini ES shields which protect the turret area from the effects of the radiant heat produced during flaring operations. The project continued our teamís excellent long-term working relationship with Single Buoy Moorings.

The Stones development is located in the Gulf of Mexicoís lower tertiary geologic trend, a new frontier in deep water where Shell achieved first commercial production with Perdido. Phase one of the project includes eight subsea production wells tied back to the FPSO. Multiphase seafloor pumping is planned to pump oil and gas from the seabed to the vessel, increasing recoverable volumes and production rates.
